I had the Kenwood Excelon KVT-614 professionally installed in my refurbished 1993 Chev Suburban in spring 2009. The trouble that I am having is with the XM radio. I don't recall that there was a problem with it in the first few months, but for the past couple of months, I have problems receiving a signal. I first checked with XM about problem. They resent the signal, but the problem has continued. I have XM radio in another vehicle (factory installed) and have not had any problems, EVER with that one. So, I really don't think that it is an XM problem. I don't use my navigation system very much, but when I do, I have had occasional problems with it picking up information. It seems to correspond with the same timing as XM reception problems. I have taken the vehicle back to the installation place, and they say that it works great there. Their location is obviously in a "hot spot" for perfect reception. They won't drive my vehicle around, so they are having a problem even hearing the system. The signal is so in and out, that it is not at all enjoyable to listen to XM radio. I firmly believe that it is either an inferior tuner or antenna problem. If I didn't have perfect XM reception in another vehicle, it would be easy for me to blame XM radio, but since that is not the case, I am convinced that the problem lies with Kenwood.
