THis CDA 9886 has more options than a payment plan to a prostitute. The bass is tighter than a lid on a pickle jar, and the cops give me waivers instead of tickets due to impressive sound imaging and no raddle in the trunk and because I scared two thieves away from stealing an old lady's Mercedes eight doors down from where a cop lives. Alpine is loaded with options, just tune to your needs, Alpine has the systems for every culture of music and Car Toys gets an applause for carrying this awesome neighborhood jukebox regulator. Besides my dad Wallace giving me a name like my main job working at the carpet barn, I love this Alpine Unit, it is loaded with my favorite features and the fact of superb sound. Nice clear highs, so so lows, almost nonexistent mid-range with no adjustment. I'm returning this head unit and going for something else - Kenwood maybe. Sorry Alpine, but the lack of watts in the unit (sales person says everything is in the external amp, I disagree) does nothing to assist with true, clear sound through all frequency ranges. Bought this unit to replace my cda-9815, much easier to adjust settings. My only complaint is that the display is still a little too bright at night, even on the dimmest setting(#3). Sound and quality is good, but not as great as the older Alpines that I have had. Unit response to remote is slow occasionally, but no problems with unit at all... Chris M Weatherford, TX
